2 South Korean Mountaineers Died in Nepal

Two South Korean mountaineers who were climbing the 6440-meter-high Cholatse, fell during the climb and lost their lives.

Two South Korean mountaineers fell to their deaths while climbing the Cholatse mountain in the Himalayas. According to the Korean Alpine federation, 43-year-old Kim Hyung-il and Chang Ji-myeong fell while climbing on the north face of the 6440-meter-high mountain.

The bodies of the climbers were retrieved by other team members who had moved from the base camp. The climbers who lost their lives had planned to reach the summit of Cholatse mountain within 36 hours. The accident took place at 5100 meters.
